U16 Kent County Junior League 25th Sept 2011 Wealden vs Raiders Final Score: 74 v 20

A comprehensive win against a depleted Raiders who only had 5 in the team.

This was an excellent win particularly as we had three new team members who had not played or trained with Wealden before – Hannah & Lydia Davies and Lilly Wadsworth. After a shaky first 5 minutes, the team soon settled and looked as though they had always played together.

Despite playing against 5 the whole team remained disciplined and focused. The ball passed easily down the court and the unmarked WA – Paige Gilham and WD – Mia Hicks were used to full advantage. Both shooters, Lilly and Lydia were on form and shot accurately. The defence (Georgie and Hannah) made some impressive interceptions and easily gathered the rebounds under the post.

Credit must go to Raiders who maintained their spirits throughout the game despite only having 5.
