Wealden made a slow start and Sabina took advantage and moved into an early lead. Despite some very good defending from Georgie and Sophie , accurate shooting from Sabina gave them a lead of 12-4 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter proved much better for Wealden who played some excellent attacking netball. Lilly moved to GA and Hannah to GS and Mia (WA) and Flick(C) found it much easier to feed the ball into the circle. Wealden won this quarter 10-9 and the half time score was 21-14.
Wealden continued to improve in the third quarter with some fantastic shooting from Lydia and Lilly and the gap was reduced to 2 goals going into the final quarter. Sabina fought back well and managed to extend their lead again to win the game.
Special mention to Kath Maynard who played an excellent Centre in the second half, despite the fact she has never played the position before.
