05th January 2012 Wealden v Aquilla Final Score: 36 vs 34

It was a disappointing start to the year, when Wealden came up against Aquilla on Thursday 5th January, not because Wealden played badly, as we had a strong team performance but because they were up against 9 players and the odds were against us. Never the less Wealden battled on and kept our heads up, pulling it back to only loosing by two goals. The defence had a awesome game, but having to get 2 metres back each time Aquilla had the ball put us at a slight disadvantage.

The score did reflects the umpires decisions and possibly the fact we ate too much turkey over Christmas but we showed a great deal of team spirit and back each other up and encouraged each other at all times. The team consisted of Hattie, Lucy, Chloe, Trudy, Amy, Lauren and Lauren and everyone played extremely well, some controlled aggression and patients was shown throughout the court and on another day the outcome may have been different. We were unlucky to loose but Well Played Girls! Onwards and Upwards!
