Well done to our U10's today who played in their first High 5 tournament. There was some brilliant netball played by our girls and some great talent to watch out for in the future. Thanks to Ann, Shannon Jackie and Sally and the 2 u12/14 Wealden girls who helped to make sure everyone had an awesome day!
Well done to the U16 Regional Squad who gained a well-deserved place in the Regional League having qualified 8th at the tournament on 13th September.
Here's to a great Season ahead!
Val Bennett was today remembered on the netball court by her team mates, family and other members of the club, as well as the opposition. A Minute's Silence was observed before the match. After the match, John and Zara Bennett were presented with a Memorial Rose named Valerie and each player wore an armband and a badge. The same respect was given on the Sunday at the tournament.
We will all miss Val very much and are saddened and shocked that a life can be taken so swiftly and far to early.

Following a great season, the U16 squad have made it to the National Finals at Redbridge again this year!
What an achievement and we all wish you the very best of luck next week girls.
The squad is as follows:
Unfortunately poor Hannah broke her ankle this weekend and is unable to participate, although she will still be going along to support her team mates. Retched bad luck Hannah, we hope you have a swift recovery.
These awards are present at the AGM to recognise individual development and commitment to Wealden, well done everyone who won this year.
Chris Gerety Award
Since 2009 we have presented this award to a member who has shown outstanding commitment to Wealden. Voted by the Committee.
2015 Award presented to Tracey Jones
Tracey was one of the founder members of Wealden as a Junior Member along with Jackie and a few other ‘daughters’. Through the years she has taken on various Committee Roles, Captained the First Team through National Clubs Era and generated Sponsorship and Grants for the club.
After having her boys she took time out of the main stream to play Socially and help out where possible. Three years ago she took on the role of Treasurer and has been back in the thick of things ever since.
Comment from Tracey: "I am very honoured to receive this award. Chris Gerety was not only a valued member of Wealden from the beginning, she was a good friend and a great mediator. Chris would always try and see everyone’s point of view, and her heart was well and truly with Wealden, wanting the best for the club and ALL it’s members. She was a firm believer in the No Train No Play policy which we have tried to uphold, although most of the time this is impossible, especially with the rules out there these days. Although I am no longer able to play the competitive game, I love playing Socially and in the Summer League, it keeps us all young and everyone really enjoys each other’s company. I can safely say that I have made some very good, long standing, unbreakable friendships at this club, and I sincerely hope other can and will say the same."
Congratulations to all the squad who have played throughout the season, and to Phil Webb, Junior Coach, for all her hard work. There are many helpers to thank as well as the poor parents who have to stand and freeze on the sidelines week after week.
A well deserved victory for all.
Our U16 squad have also qualified for the Nationals AGAIN!!! Massive congratulations to them too - WEEEEE ARE ON OUR WAY TO 'REDBRIDGE' !!!
Congratulations to all the players and teams who played at the Beginning of Season Rally!
Lets go onwards and upwards for the rest of the season!
