Wealden Black vs Otford Vipers lost 3 - 11
Slow start to the first quarter with poor decision making. Defence turned many passes over coming in to the circle but struggle to clear the ball back down the court. A few coaching tips at half time and we are now able to clear the ball and look strong moving down the court. Abigail making some great drives into space and in to the circle. Lucy and kate working hard around the attacking circle to feed the shooters.
We need to remember what we have practiced at training and bring every match.
POM Kate. Some great interceptions all game.

Wealden Gold vs CFX Win 33 – 20
What a difference it makes when all the girls warming up before the game starts. We all came out on the first whistle ready to play excellent netball.
Strong driving onto the ball and using all the channels moving down the court. Every player defending and coursing Otford to make mistakes which we then turned into a goal.
Strong defence the whole game turning the ball and supporting down the court. Good vision from all the girls dodging and diving in to clear space.
POM Hannah Berry Safe pair of hands and good vision.
Wealden White vs CDP lost 12 – 27
We never found our normal good form this game. Some poor decision making giving the ball to CDP.
CDP had a strong defensive line up and we struggled to work a way around them. When we did get the ball to the shooters they scored the goal. Coach made a few changes in the last quarter and we started to fined the shooters easier and our defence had more turnovers and carried the ball down the court.
Lets remember to bring what we learn at training to every netball match.
POM Mimi amazing speed through the court and kept fighting all game.
WELADEN RED V OTFORD COBRAS
With 50% of the Red team out at a school hockey tournament this match gave a number of players from the Blue squad a chance to play up in the higher division and wow did they snatch the chance to prove how much they deserved it. Nothing wrong with our court play skills in the first quarter just a little off in the shooting circle to end fractionally down at 5 goals to 3. A switch to the shooting combination saw Grace Easton and Lucy Clements power ahead to score 9 goals to Otfords 4 and the half time score at 12 - 9. When Isabella Cubbon returned to the court in quarter 3 the consistent shooting continued and once again Wealden took the quarter 6 - 4. It didn't seem to matter what combination was in defence the squad turned over ball after ball throughout the game but special mention to Katie Moore in the third quarter when the opposition just couldn't get past her. The final quarter saw us struggle to accurately feed the circle and a number of held ball calls meant Otford started to edge closer to our 5 goal lead but just when we thought they might overtake us we reconnected and sank 3 straight goals on the trot, phew. Final score 22 - 19 to Weladen, much better than the 13 - 15 loss first time around and well done everyone fantastic netball a pleasure to watch.

WEALDEN AMBER V CD PHOENIX SCARLET
Having worked continually at training to improve our shooting statistics in a game this match finally saw the results of our hard work a goal in every quarter, 2 in the first and 3 in the 4th. From start to finish Wealden were in a 'determined mood' although CD Phoenix certainly know how to put up a strong fight with many of their players stealing the ball. There wasn't much wrong with our skills today consistent footwork, powerful shoulder passing, good vision down the court and as always a huge amount of interceptions especially from Vice-Captain Bea Cheverton. First time out for year 4 Lexie Birchmore saw her hold off the opposition to gain a free pass for held ball in the third quarter really impresssive defensive work. Phoebe Norman and Alanna Cross finally put their names on a goal for the first time this season as well as Eleanor Randell scoring 2 and Captain Kayla Brown netting 3. Alice Elmer and Emily Ball demonstrated their skill progression and how hard work at training really pays off in a match, good consistent performance throughout. Final score 7 - 1 to Wealden well done girls an absolutely fantastic morning, very satisfying.
