Great start to the season for the newly formed Wealden 5 team at NWK. A little bit of nerves to begin with 5-5 at 10 minutes but then they settled, took a breath and finished the quarter leading 12-5. The try just ramped it up and never mind the heat the quad made an outstanding final score of 68-18. Fantastic result! We look forward to seeing this new team face the rest of the tough competition.
First game in the London and South East League Division 3. Slightly slow start to the game, however, pulled away in Q2. We built on that lead throughout taking the win 45-28. Thanks to the opposition Actonians Netball Club for a great game! Congrats to our regional debutant Laura Hanson for coaches POM and our fabulous captain Tiffany (Tippy) Haughton for opposition POM. Big thank you to our supporters for coming along to cheer us to our first victory!

Well done to our U10's today who played in their first High 5 tournament. There was some brilliant netball played by our girls and some great talent to watch out for in the future. Thanks to Ann, Shannon Jackie and Sally and the 2 u12/14 Wealden girls who helped to make sure everyone had an awesome day!
Well done to the U16 Regional Squad who gained a well-deserved place in the Regional League having qualified 8th at the tournament on 13th September.
Here's to a great Season ahead! Val Bennett was today remembered on the netball court by her team mates, family and other members of the club, as well as the opposition. A Minute's Silence was observed before the match. After the match, John and Zara Bennett were presented with a Memorial Rose named Valerie and each player wore an armband and a badge. The same respect was given on the Sunday at the tournament. We will all miss Val very much and are saddened and shocked that a life can be taken so swiftly and far to early. R.I.P. dear Val - 12th September 2015 We made sure we won the game in your honour : 72-32 |
