Wealden 4…what can we say? Not sure how many parents burst a few blood vessels behind the court today but the team kept everyone hanging to the end once again. Down 16-13 at halftime and level at 22 all going into Q4. It was like pick’n’mix for the C bib but we did it again. The final score 33-29, a win’s a win.
![]() Wealden County squad took on Macklins Netball Club in the Kent County League. With a tough physical game, they kept their composure with lots of defensive pressure from the POM Marianne Watts allowing the attack lots of shooting opportunities. They took the win 50-36. Another Saturday back up at NWK and this time it was chilly. Wealden 2s started off the day at 3°C with a very hard game against Beacons ending in a loss 69-27. Wealden 4 took a little time to settle in starting with a steady lead at half time the score didn’t reflect the turnover rate but the team built confidence and recognised their errors. Plenty of rotation and court time allowed them to chip away at their lead finishing 33-23. Wealden 3 took on a physical Xs team but came away with the win 49-42. Lastly, Wealden 1 played Eclipse Royal starting close but they managed to pull away winning 39-26.

Whilst Wealden 5’s final score saw them continue to build their goal average the opposition made them work hard through the centre court. Great result once more, another win 58-14. Lastly our Senior Regional game today against Crystal Palace saw a great squad effort, brilliant shooting and amazing defensive work all through the court restricting Palace to 5 goals in the 3rd quarter! The squad came away with an impressive 54-26 win. Coaches POM to Ellie Poland and opposition POM Paula Costa, congratulation ladies. Sadly the squad is losing one of their own, Erin, with this being her last game before she heads off to Dubai for a while, good luck with your new adventure. Thanks to our opposition, umpires, officials, bench and awesome band of cheerleaders. ![]() At 11 am a 2-minute silence was held across all courts to remember the Armed Forces, and their families, the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism. Congratulations to all our POM this week: Wealden 1 Coaches POM: Jess Berry Oppositions POM: Kelly Flatman Wealden 2 Coaches and Opposition’s POM: Justine Mcavoy Wealden 3 Opposition’s POM: Trudy Barnes
Wealden U18 County Squad took to the court for the second time this season. We knew we’d be in for a tough time. A few nerves were clearly evident in the first few minutes which left us on the catch-up right from the start. Q2 saw us score 11 against 13 but we couldn’t sustain the momentum. Time and again we made the right choices but we just weren’t quick enough and the opposition beat us to it. Still building on our experiences and still get a point for getting half. Final score 35-61.
Wet, windy and wild Saturday for Wealden 5 this morning and some very chilly hands. But we just dug in and kept going. No goals for the opposition during Q3 and the final winning score 43-6.
Wealden regional squad took on Alpha Netball Club in Division 3 of the London and South East League. Tough game throughout, with errors forced by the defensive effort put out by our opposition. However, we kept our work rate and effort high to the final whistle, drawing the final quarter. Final score 52-40 to Alpha. Opposition POM Tiffany Haughton and Coaches POM Sammy King for their defensive prowess! |
