These awards are present at the AGM to recognise individual development and commitment to Wealden, well done everyone who won this year.
Chris Gerety Award
Since 2009 we have presented this award to a member who has shown outstanding commitment to Wealden. Voted by the Committee.
2015 Award presented to Tracey Jones
Tracey was one of the founder members of Wealden as a Junior Member along with Jackie and a few other ‘daughters’. Through the years she has taken on various Committee Roles, Captained the First Team through National Clubs Era and generated Sponsorship and Grants for the club.
After having her boys she took time out of the main stream to play Socially and help out where possible. Three years ago she took on the role of Treasurer and has been back in the thick of things ever since.
Comment from Tracey: "I am very honoured to receive this award. Chris Gerety was not only a valued member of Wealden from the beginning, she was a good friend and a great mediator. Chris would always try and see everyone’s point of view, and her heart was well and truly with Wealden, wanting the best for the club and ALL it’s members. She was a firm believer in the No Train No Play policy which we have tried to uphold, although most of the time this is impossible, especially with the rules out there these days. Although I am no longer able to play the competitive game, I love playing Socially and in the Summer League, it keeps us all young and everyone really enjoys each other’s company. I can safely say that I have made some very good, long standing, unbreakable friendships at this club, and I sincerely hope other can and will say the same."
